Triumph Public High Schools (TPHS) provides accelerated instruction to students who fail to perform satisfactorily on assessment instruments in grades 3-8. Accelerated instruction is provided before or after normal school hours and may include summer programs. TPHS accommodates out-of-district students in summer programs if they match the prescribed accelerated instruction. Students who fail grade advancement tests are given at least two additional opportunities to take the test and receive accelerated instruction. If a student fails after three attempts, an educational plan is developed, and instruction is provided the next school year. Parents or guardians are notified of unsatisfactory performance, accelerated instruction, and potential retention. Notice is provided in person, by mail, or in the parent's native language. A Grade Placement Committee (GPC) is established after a student fails an assessment instrument twice to prescribe accelerated instruction. The GPC is composed of the Principal, parent or guardian, and teacher, and decisions are made on an individual basis to support the student's academic achievement.
