Summary

The verb ≥rxeto in Aristophanes' Pax 66-67 comes from êrxomai, not ¶rxomai, due to normal Attic usage. In Pax 320, the reading …w is problematic, and Blaydes' conjecture of ka‹ is preferable due to sense, sound, and paleographical considerations. In Pax 1195-96, the transmitted reading §peisfÒrei is unmetrical, and a conjecture of §pe¤sfrei (pres. imper.) is proposed, meaning 'bring in' or 'introduce' the food, based on the compound verb §peisfre›n from -fr°v.
