Summary

The Australian Curriculum is designed to develop successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed young people. It sets goals for student learning and provides a modern curriculum with eight learning areas and seven general capabilities. In Years 9 and 10, students learn across the curriculum, preparing for civic, social, and economic participation, and make choices about learning and specialization. The learning areas include English, Maths, Science, Health and PE, Technologies, The Arts, Humanities, and Languages, with opportunities for elective subjects.
