Summary

Dear Parents/Carers,
We hope you have all had a lovely summer break and are ready for an exciting year ahead. To begin our school year, the whole school transition topic will be ‘Together we Learn and Grow’ and we will be using Tom Blofeld’s ‘Bewilderwood’ series of books to stimulate our creative writing and artwork.

In Maths, we will focus on number, place value, and the four written calculations, and in English, we will develop writing skills through the study of various texts, including ‘Varmints’ and a book about Ernest Shackleton's Journey.

The Wider Curriculum will include History, Geography, and Science, with topics such as Ancient Civilisations, whether Warrington is a good place to settle, and Physics and Biology.

Homework will be completed in separate English and Maths Homework Books, and PE sessions will be scheduled for Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

As Year 6 students will be completing their End of Key Stage 2 National Assessments, we ask that you ensure any absences are prevented during this time.
