Summary

A research project at Budapest University of Technology and Economics investigated the reasons for student dropout, but was reformulated to focus on student success, defined as completion of studies, proper study results, commitment to the major/institution, study progress, and successful entry into the workforce. The study used depth interviews, a questionnaire with 54 statements, and Q methodology to survey 478 students' opinions on factors contributing to successful completion of university studies. Eight factors emerged, including practice-oriented training, social relations, and others, with students rating the importance of these factors on a 6-grade Likert scale. The results showed that students value practice-oriented training, social relations, and other factors in achieving success in their university studies.
