Start-up companies drive wealth and job creation, and universities can support them by providing relevant knowledge. A collaborative entrepreneurial coaching program between start-up entrepreneurs and university students was evaluated, measuring its impact on self-assessed capabilities and critical capabilities for start-up success. The results showed that the program had a positive impact on assessed capabilities, and that students and entrepreneurs can learn together, but questions remain about learning retention. The program is an intensive 8-week coaching arrangement where students act as "assistant coaches" to entrepreneurs, guided by certified instructors. Theoretical rationale for the program is based on the specific nature of technology-based start-up companies, which face high market uncertainty, technological uncertainty, and competitive volatility. The program's unique feature is its co-learning mode, where students and entrepreneurs learn together and support each other's learning.
