The University of Cambridge's mission is to contribute to society through education, learning, and research at the highest international levels of excellence. Cambridge Mathematics is a collaborative enterprise aiming to champion and secure a world-class mathematics education for all students from 5-19 years old. The vision is to develop a coherent, transparent, evidence-based model of mathematics education that emphasizes the richness and power of maths, encourages continued study, and contributes to learners' personal, societal, and economic well-being. The four principles underpinning this work are access for all, evidence-based, collaboration and consultation, and coherent and integrated programme. The aims include championing access to quality maths education, developing a coherent Cambridge Mathematics Framework, and creating world-class teaching and learning materials. The Cambridge Mathematics Framework will be a map of mathematical knowledge from pre-school to upper secondary phase, loosely age-related, and based on progressions in organizing concepts and principles. Resources, assessments, and professional development will link to the framework, and the goal is to make considerable progress towards the seven subsidiary aims by 2020.
