Summary

TESS-India aims to support quality pedagogic change in teacher education and school classrooms through Open Educational Resources (OER). An academic review of TESS-India activity in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha found that use of TESS-India OER is contributing to quality change in classrooms, with teachers drawing on OER to inform lesson planning and teaching. The review observed more interactive and participatory practices, with happy and motivated children and teachers, and better relationships between target groups. However, the innovation in practice and transformation in pedagogy is still in the early stages. Policy makers and lead teacher educators are changing their thinking about teacher professional development, focusing on continuous professional development and learning.
