Die Stadt bietet viele kulturelle Freizeitangebote, wie Museen, Galerien und Sportangebote, zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Die monatlichen Kosten lagen zwischen 400 und 500 Pfund. Der Bericht empfiehlt das Auslandsstudium an der Universität Newcastle sehr.
