Summary

The Foundation Stage Team misses you all and encourages ongoing engagement through:

- Phonics: Access online lessons for revision and consolidation, linked to school teaching. View videos on YouTube (Reception Lesson 28) and use Phonics Play (Phase 3 & 4 games) and 'Teaching Your Monster to Read'.
- Reading: Encourage daily reading using Oxford Reading Owl e books or Collins Big Cat from Red level for all children, and Yellow level for more advanced readers.
- Writing: Introduce simple poetry through shared rhymes/nursery songs, adapting them together. Use Michael Rosen's book 'A Great Big Cuddle' as a starting point. Record performances on Tapestry. Follow writing tips: plan, say sentences 3x, count words, split sounds, use phoneme mats and tricky word lists, and include pictures.
- Handwriting: Practice upper and lower case alphabet letters, focusing on size and formation. Also, work on name writing.
- Maths (Money): Recap coin recognition and play the Topmarks Toy Shop Money Game (starting with 1p). Discuss money's purpose and value, identifying different coins and their worth.
