Summary

A CS and robotics integration model for primary school was evaluated through a large-scale pilot study in Switzerland, involving 350 teachers and 5000 pupils. The model consisted of a mandatory CS continuing professional development program (CPD) with a curriculum scaffolded by instruction modality, including CS Unplugged and Robotics Unplugged activities. Teachers evaluated the CPD positively, and their representation of CS improved, with voluntary adoption rates reaching 97% during the CPD and 80% the following year. The results support the generalisability of the model to other contexts, addressing the need for a comprehensive approach to integrate CS and robotics into primary school curricula.
