1. Patterns of human settlements: Dispersed, Nucleared, Linear

3. Surfaces reclaimed in Kenya: Deserts, Swamps, Tsetse infested valleys, Flood prone plains
Methods of reclamation: Deserts - irrigation, Swamps - draining, Tsetse - chemical/biological, Floods - earth dams

4. Soil conservation practices: Mulching - protects soil, reduces evaporation, adds humus, increases micro organisms
Terracing - reduces erosion, allows water retention and infiltration
