Tuesday: L.O. I can use a story hill to help plan my story based on a historical event.
Wednesday: L.O. I can write a beginning for my story based on a historical event.
Thursday: L.O. I can write an exciting story set in the past.
Friday: L.O. To write an advert for eBay - Exciting Writing Task.
Teaching input includes recorded video lessons for each day, with activities such as writing imagined conversations, planning stories, and writing beginnings and endings.
Children will write stories based on the Fire of London, including descriptions, speech punctuation, and archaic language.
The plan also includes a plenary for each day, where children will compare their writing, check for punctuation, and consider how to link paragraphs together.
On Friday, children will watch an Exciting Writing video and write an advert for an object they would like to sell on eBay, using persuasive language and including details to entice the prospective new owner.
Resources include saved Zoom lessons, pdfs of power points, and copies of texts such as "The Story of the Great Fire of London" by Jill Atkins.
