Summary

The 2020-21 school year is expected to be unconventional due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Charter schools are preparing to offer face-to-face, blended, or virtual learning experiences. Despite uncertainties, schools have completed Return to Learn plans and are adapting to new regulations. The state has mandated benchmark assessments in reading and math for K-8th graders within the first 9 weeks of school, as well as fall PSAT/SAT testing for 9th-12th graders. New NWEA norms have been released, outlining beginning, middle, and end of year achievement and student growth norms. The Charter School Office is launching a new platform for professional development, called ON24, and will be offering a governance webinar series. The office has also welcomed a new student worker, Sierra Burton, and introduced a new staff member, Brooke Maciag, School Support Specialist.
