The study examines the consequences of safety net programs and food security for people living with HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia. Ethiopia has a high prevalence of HIV/AIDS, with 760,000 people living with the disease in 2012. Nutrition is essential for effective HIV treatment, but many people living with HIV/AIDS face food insecurity due to stigma, job loss, and poverty. Safety net programs, such as food aid, vouchers, or cash transfers, can improve food accessibility and help people out of poverty. The study conducted five interviews and used situational maps and analysis to examine the impact of safety net programs on food security and health consequences for people living with HIV/AIDS. The results show that stigma and job loss are major problems, leading to food insecurity and malnutrition. Safety net programs may be a solution to improve food security and living standards for people with HIV/AIDS. Proper nutrition is crucial to prevent wasting and improve health outcomes.
