Summary

The Brexit vote revealed two tribal views on partiality, change, identity, and social trust, representing global and local world views of morality. This project develops a moral form of partiality, a moderate patriotism called MfP, inspired by Giuseppe Mazzini's patriotic thoughts, which aims to satisfy the desire for human flourishing by acting from a universal principle to reject indifference and neglect in a workable social and political system, focusing on fostering and sustaining the social fabric, securing the common good, and protecting the environment.
