Research supports the use of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) practices, including response-to-intervention and positive behavioral interventions. MTSS frameworks address students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs at each tier. Tier 2 interventions can be used to serve students more efficiently, and regression discontinuity designs (RDD) can be used to evaluate their effects. An illustration using SRSD Fractions, a program developed to support fraction skills, demonstrated the efficacy of the SRSD framework in improving conceptual and procedural understanding of fractions with fourth-grade students with math difficulties. The study used RDD to estimate the effect of SRSD Fractions on fractions performance, finding a significant difference between students participating in the intervention and those in the control group.
