Loud noises can damage our ears and make us deaf. A very loud noise can break the eardrum. The cochlea can also be damaged by loud noise.
There are laws to protect people who work in noisy factories. The loudest sound allowed is 90 dB. This is the same loudness as a road drill. Police sirens and explosions are louder than this.
