General Instructional Objectives:
The course is designed to understand the concept, definition, and management of coastal area resources, as well as the characteristics, structure, and dynamics of coastal ecosystems.

Specific Instructional Objectives:
1. Introduction to coastal area management: concepts, definitions, and resource management.
2. Understand and explain coastal resource management.
3. Characteristics and structure of coastal ecosystems.
4. Understand and explain the behavior and dynamics of coastal ecosystems.
5. Potential and problems: resource degradation.
6. Potential and problems: environmental pollution.
7. Understand and explain the elements and processes of coastal area management.
8. Understand and explain the design techniques for development with economic-ecological, socio-economic, socio-political, legal, and ethical dimensions.
9. Understand and explain the design techniques for development with socio-political-legal and ethical dimensions.
10. Mid-semester exam.
11. Understand and explain the development of institutional capacity in planning and management, as well as the development of information systems and human resources to support integrated coastal management.

13. Understand and explain the mobilization of support, participation, and partnership of all stakeholders in coastal development for successful development and conservation.
