The University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Pharmacy offers a 3-year university study programme in Laboratory Biomedicine, lasting 6 semesters and comprising 180 credit points (ECTS). The programme trains skilled professionals for jobs in medical laboratories, research institutions, and related fields, providing the basics for further studies and lifelong technical and scientific training. The main objectives are to develop general competences such as analyzing, critically evaluating, and solving professional laboratory problems, as well as performing individual and team work, communicating, and publishing results. Enrolment requirements include completing matura or vocational matura examination, and selection criteria are based on general success in matura or final school exams. The programme has specific requirements for advancement, repetition of the year, and completion of study, and allows transfers between study programmes within the UL and other universities.
