Summary

Der radikale und soziale Konstruktivismus haben in der Didaktik der Mathematik viele Anhänger, obwohl sie metaphysische Annahmen machen, deren Bedeutung in pädagogischen Handlungsfeldern ungeklärt ist. Der Aufsatz argumentiert, dass ein moderner Realismus, ein realistisch gewendeter Konstruktivismus, eine bessere Hintergrundtheorie für mathematikdidaktische Überlegungen darstellt als der radikale Konstruktivismus. Der Konstruktivismus hat in der Didaktik große Fortschritte bewirkt, aber seine Aussagen sind oft nicht spezifisch für den Konstruktivismus und können auch aus anderen Erkenntnistheorien folgen. Eine Gegenposition zum radikalen Konstruktivismus, der "realistische Konstruktivismus", wird entworfen.
