The University of Sydney's Postgraduate Research Referee form requires two sections to be completed:
1. Applicant's details: University ID, name, date of birth, email, course applied for, and discipline/special field of interest.
2. Referee's report: The referee must assess the applicant's technical competence, initiative, diligence, motivation, and research potential, comparing them to other candidates.
The referee rates the applicant's qualities, including preparation, organization, critical thinking, motivation, planning, technical competence, and intellectual promise, on a scale from "Below average" to "Excellent".
The form also inquires if the referee's institution offers the graduate program and if the applicant would be accepted, as well as the applicant's English proficiency if it's not their first language.
The referee provides their contact information and signature, with the option to grant permission for the University of Sydney to contact them if necessary.
