The High School Students Institute of Mathematics and Informatics (HSSI) was established in 2000 by the Bulgarian mathematical community to identify and develop talented high school students in mathematics and informatics. HSSI's mission is to provide a platform for students to exhibit their abilities and gifts, and to develop future leaders in science. The institute organizes events such as competitive sessions, research summer schools, and seminars, where students can present their projects and receive guidance from specialists. Participants in HSSI have achieved notable successes, including winning national and international competitions, and have been given opportunities to continue their education at universities without exams. Over 600 high school students have participated in HSSI events, and more than 200 have taken part in the Research Summer Schools.
