Summary

Astronomy and space science are gaining popularity, yet many people don't understand basic astronomical terms, including the cause of seasons. Students hold incorrect conceptions, described as "spontaneous thought", which are resistant to change. A 3D instructional program was developed to teach basic concepts, and 92 8th grade students were instructed and assessed. Despite the program, most students still presented hybrid models of seasonal change, with no improvement in 3D abilities.
