Key Responsibilities:

Teach bicycle and pedestrian safety education to school-aged children (pre-school to high school)
Lead classroom and on-street settings, including skills courses and bike rodeos
Work with school administrators, teachers, parents, and volunteers to plan and deliver curriculum
Complete back-end reporting and administrative tasks

Tasks:

Fit helmets on kids
Teach bike inspection and safety
Set up and lead Learn-to-Ride areas and Skills Courses
Administer pre and post-quizzes
Teach rules of the road and hand signals
Haul equipment and oversee volunteers
Keep students and volunteers safe

Requirements:

Enjoy working with kids of all ages
Knowledge of Colorado rules of the road
Ability to stand for long periods and lift bicycles
Flexible schedule (September to mid-November, mid-February to May)
Completion of 20-hour volunteer training, Smart Cycling Class, and BFC SRTS Instructor Training
Registration as a PSD volunteer with background check
