2021 Leaving Certificate Results & Appeals Guide

This guide outlines key dates, access to results, and appeal processes for 2021 Leaving Certificate candidates in Ireland.

Key Dates:

Friday 3 September: Schools receive summary reports (by post and online) at 10 a.m. Candidates can access provisional results with PDF statements.
Tuesday 7 September, 5 p.m.: Application to view scripts opens.
Saturday 11 September, 9 a.m. - Sunday 12 September, 12 p.m.: Access to view marked scripts (both paper-based and online).
Saturday 11 September, 9 a.m. - Monday 13 September, 12 p.m.: Appeal applications open.

Accessing Results:

Provisional Results: Candidates can access provisional results and download PDF statements from the Candidate Self Service Portal starting Friday 3 September. Schools will not receive individual copies.
Examination Component Marks & Final Marks: You'll receive written exam component marks and final marks for each subject.
Accredited Grades: You'll see estimated marks and accredited marks for Accredited Grades.

Viewing Scripts:

Scripts marked on paper will be available in one of three sessions: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., 12 p.m. - 2 p.m., or 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday 11 September (additional session Sunday 12 September for schools).
Scripts marked online will be accessible from 9 a.m. on Saturday 11 September until 12 p.m. on Sunday 12 September. A list of subjects available online is on page 12 of the guide.

Appeals:

Writing Examinations Appeals: Applications must be submitted between 5 p.m. Tuesday 7 September and 8 p.m. Wednesday 8 September.
Accredited Grades Appeals: Applications are due by 12 p.m. Monday 13 September.

Important Notes:

Tight timelines for viewing scripts and appealing results are in place to expedite the process.
The State Examinations Commission (SEC) is working with relevant departments on a timeline for appeal results, but a specific timeframe cannot be committed until the number of appeals is known.
