Welcome Back!
Strathcona Staff is excited to kick off the 2023-24 school year with a focus on engaging literacy, mathematics, and Indigenous Education.

Meet the Staff:
Join us for an annual gathering on Thursday, September 14th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm to meet new staff and tour your child's classroom.

Important Dates:
- First day of school: Wednesday, September 6th
- Orange Shirt Day: Friday, September 29th
- MB Election Day (no classes): Tuesday, October 3rd
- Additional school closure dates:
- Professional Development Days: November 3rd, February 2nd, April 19th
- Student LED Conferences: November 3rd, March 15th
- School Planning Day: May 6th
- Admin Day: June 10th

Arrival and Dismissal:
- Morning drop off: 8:40 am on the back hard top
- Afternoon pick up: 12:50 pm
- Lunch pick up: 12:00 pm
- Dismissal: Students walked outside with teachers to designated pick-up lines; no double parking on Alfred Avenue.

Attendance:
Ensure your child is present each day as attendance impacts academic success.

Parent Advisory Council:
First meeting on Thursday, September 21st at 1:15 pm. No experience necessary; snacks provided.

Community Support:
- Summer Hamper Program: Thank you to volunteers. Contact Lee Tavares (204-586-8493 or [email protected]) for fall hampers.
- National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: Wear orange on September 29th in support of Residential Schools Survivors.
