Prof. Dr. Alfred Toth entwickelt ein 5-kontexturales Stellenwertsystem für die triadisch-trichotomische Semiotik, da die von Rudolf Kaehr vorgeschlagene Kontexturierung der semiotischen Matrizen nicht ausreicht. Kaehr hatte die semiotische Matrix kontexturiert, um das Problem der Polykontexturalität von Zeichen zu lösen, aber seine Lösung widerspricht dem peirceschen Axiom und ist für n×n-Matrizen mit n > 3 nicht anwendbar. Toth argumentiert, dass die Peirce-Bense-Semiotik aufgrund ihrer Monokontexturalität unzureichend ist und dass für eine minimale Semiotik 5 Kontexturen benötigt werden, die auf eine 3-stellige Relation abgebildet werden müssen. Er schlägt ein 5-stelligen Relationsschema mit 2 Leerstellen vor, um dieses Problem zu lösen.
