Summary

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) received the HR Excellence in Research Award in 2013 and has undertaken a four-year review of its Concordat Action Plan. The university has made progress in implementing the principles of the Concordat, including introducing open-ended contracts, limiting fixed-term contracts, and updating recruitment and selection processes. A new Researcher Development Team has been established to provide leadership and coordination for researcher development, and the university is committed to supporting the career development of research staff. NTU has also invested in new academic and professional support positions and has developed a strategic plan to expand research excellence and capability. The university aims to be an employer of choice for researchers and is working to create a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive research environment.
