On June 30, 2022, a lecture on climate change and its impacts was held at Ryūkyū City's Higashi Junior High School. The lecture was given by Keiko Yoshikawa, deputy director of the National Institute for Environmental Studies' Climate Change Adaptation Center.

After the lecture, students were asked to fill out a reflection sheet. For the first-year students (160 students), the results were as follows:
- 41.9% of students understood the overview of climate change.
- 51.9% of students understood the impacts of climate change.
- 56.9% of students thought they could take action to adapt to climate change.

For the second-year students (168 students), the results were as follows:
- 44.6% of students understood the overview of climate change.
- 54.8% of students understood the impacts of climate change.
- 54.2% of students thought they could take action to adapt to climate change.

In the comments section, many students expressed their desire to take action to address climate change, with some suggesting that they would like to learn more about what they can do to help. Others mentioned that the lecture was easy to understand and that they enjoyed the use of visual aids and quizzes. Some students also suggested improvements, such as making the lecture more interactive or providing more concrete examples of what individuals can do to address climate change.
