Yu-Chuan, Hao, a student from National Dong Hwa University, participated in an international outbound exchange program at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) in China from February 2018 to June 2018. He chose BIT due to its geographical location in Beijing, the political and cultural center of China, and its reputation as a top university in China. Hao stayed in the international student dormitory at the Liangxiang campus, which had modern facilities and a convenient location. He took courses in materials science and engineering, including a digital photography course, and participated in various extracurricular activities, such as attending lectures at other universities in Beijing. Hao appreciated the affordable living costs and rich cultural experiences in China, but also noted the importance of having a serious attitude towards learning and representing Taiwan as an exchange student. He expressed gratitude to National Dong Hwa University for providing the exchange opportunity and to his girlfriend, Yang Chengzhen, for accompanying him throughout the experience.
