The Orland Park Public Library Board of Trustees met on April 16, 2012. Members present included Catherine Lebert, Mary Ann Ahl, Carole Hillman, Diane Jennings, Denis Ryan, and Nancy Healy. The meeting began with the approval of the March Board minutes. A card was received from library staff members who attended the Public Library Association Conference, thanking the board for the opportunity. The Treasurer's Report was presented, showing financials in line and revenue doing well, with a grant of $58,214.56 received. The board approved the Accounts Payable and discussed personnel matters, including a new book publication by Reference Librarian Jamie Kallio and customer service compliments for IT staff. The Library Director reported on grants, legislative day, and upcoming events, including the American Library Association Diversity Grant meeting. The board also discussed technology and security, including the purchase of a new firewall and antivirus protection software, and programs, including the Outreach Services Department's successful events. The SWAN Committee and collection development were also discussed.
