Summary

To schedule an event in a Seattle park, a park use permit is required if amplified sound is planned, equipment is brought in, the event is publicly advertised, or a large number of people is expected. Permits are granted on an application-review basis and can be obtained by sending the application to Seattle Parks and Recreation. The application fee is $75, unless the event is protected by the First Amendment, in which case it's $50. Other fees may include park fees, electrical or water hookup fees, late application fees, commercial use fees, and load/unload fees. Seattle Parks may also require insurance, deposits, and special approvals or permits from other city departments. Admission, event, or sale of merchandise fees may apply, with 10% of gross receipts or a $20 per booth/canopy fee due to the city. Commercial use, promotional, and advertising fees are $100 per surface, per day. Damage to park property will be charged to the user group at current labor and material costs. Insurance requirements include a minimum of $1,000,000 commercial general liability coverage.
