Summary

Nairobi City County Assembly met on October 26, 2021, with Hon. Deputy Speaker Geophrey Majiwa in the Chair. Hon. Joseph Komu laid the 6th Report of the Sectoral Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs regarding alleged unfairness and discrimination in staff affairs at the County Assembly. Hon. Mary Mwami raised a point of order, citing a court case, but was asked to substantiate her claim with documentation. Hon. Joseph Komu gave notice of a motion to adopt the 6th Report. Hon. Mbugua Kabiro moved a motion to develop a county policy on older persons' welfare, citing the Constitution's provisions for their rights and dignity. He urged the County Executive to establish a department to work with National Government agencies to protect older persons' rights and welfare.
