A status review of the Stanford Research Institute's (SRI) paranormal research contract revealed the need for a 30-day no-cost time extension. SRI has provided competent research, with some results being replicated at independent laboratories. The research includes physiological correlates, basic phenomena investigations, and paranormal ability functioning characterizations tests, such as remote viewing and line drawing. Preliminary conclusions suggest that some subjects performed well in remote viewing tests, but none were able to reproduce live drawings like Uri Geller. Medical, psychological, and neurophysiological testing of six subjects is complete, with preliminary analysis indicating that neurophysiological tests may be the strongest indicator of strong remote viewers. Without immediate commitment of support, principal investigators R. Targ and H. Puthoff are expected to leave SRI.
