L'Ajuntament de Sils, Sorea SAU i Abastaments d'Aigua del Tordera han aprovat un protocol regulador de mesures contra la pobresa energètica i la vulnerabilitat econòmica. El protocol té com a objectiu garantir el servei d'aigua a les persones i famílies que es trobin en una situació de vulnerabilitat econòmica. Les empreses subministradores informaran sobre les tarifes socials i altres ajuts disponibles per fer front a la pobresa energètica. En cas d'impagament de rebuts, les empreses subministradores negociaran ajornaments del pagament o fraccionaments de les factures sense aplicar interessos. Els Serveis Socials de l'Ajuntament també intervenen per ajudar els usuaris a obtenir ajuts i descomptes. El protocol estableix que no es realitzarà un tall d'aigua fins que hi hagi com a mínim dos rebuts pendents de pagament.
