Arnside & Silverdale AONB is a unique landscape of national importance, designated in 1972, covering 75km2, celebrated for its plants, birds, butterflies, and diverse habitats. The AONB Management Plan 2014-19 aims to conserve and enhance natural beauty. In 2017/18, the AONB Partnership worked with others to deliver projects, provided advice and support to landowners, and influenced development management policies. Achievements included 50 practical conservation tasks, 3,200 hours of volunteer work, and small-scale conservation projects, such as rebuilding drystone walls and restoring historic landscapes. The partnership also worked on a Geology Audit and Assessment and supported the Headlands to Headspace Landscape Partnership Scheme.
