Summary

Clean Energy Works Oregon (CEWO) achieved success by soliciting ongoing feedback from contractors, encouraging formal contractor networks, designing contractor incentives, and rewarding high-performing contractors. CEWO started with 50 home performance contracting firms, completed 1,600 upgrades, and received positive feedback from customers. The program ensured high-quality work by selecting top-performing firms and tracking results, and encouraged local contracting firms to improve their business practices. CEWO also created business development classes and mentoring opportunities for new contractors, and worked with the Home Performance Contractors Guild of Oregon to organize the contractor community and provide a unified voice.
