Maricopa County Sheriff's Office conducted a property/facility inspection at District 6 Patrol Division on August 15, 2016. The inspection found 45 items in the "Submitted" section of the Property and Evidence system, all of which were properly secured. However, one item was not found in the "Submitted" section due to errors that needed to be addressed. The inspection also found video surveillance and audio recordings in a locked evidence locker that were not entered into the Property and Evidence system. Five patrol vehicles were inspected and found to have no unsecured property or evidence. The overall compliance rate was 99%, with 100% compliance for facility and vehicle inspections, and 98% compliance for property inspections. Recommendations included completing monthly Line Level Inspections and documenting them, as well as having Property and Evidence Custodians CC property rejection emails to the relevant personnel.
