BTECH Institute Forum Charter.pdf

The Institute for Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus University consists of 12 members: 6 VIPs, 2 Ph.D. students, 2 TAPs, and 2 STUDs. Its tasks include:

1. Advising and supporting the institute leader in academic and strategic matters to ensure innovation, transparency, and legitimacy in decision-making.
2. Maintaining the institute's academic and social identity.
3. Ensuring shared decision-making by involving the Institute Forum in research, talent development, knowledge exchange, and education.
4. Providing opinions on significant academic matters affecting the institute's operations.
5. Advising the dean with decisions made by simple majority, but allowing for minority statements.

Structure and Operations:

- Chaired by the institute leader, who collaborates with a vice-chair elected from the academic staff representatives.
- Meets regularly (at least twice a year) to discuss the institute's strategy, budget, staffing policies, and student environment.
- Membership is open to the public, but closed-door sessions are allowed for sensitive matters.
- Decisions are made by simple majority, with members able to delegate their vote via written proxy.
