Summary

Der Deutsche Bundestag stimmt der Fortsetzung der Beteiligung bewaffneter deutscher Streitkräfte an der NATO-geführten Maritimen Sicherheitsoperation SEA GUARDIAN im Mittelmeer zu. Die Operation soll die maritime Sicherheit im Mittelmeer stärken und der Bedrohung des Bündnisgebietes sowie der Verbreitung von Terrorismus entgegenwirken. Die deutschen Streitkräfte werden im Rahmen der Operation eingesetzt, um unter anderem die Seeraumüberwachung, den Lagebildaustausch, den maritimen Kampf gegen den Terrorismus und die Beschränkung des Waffenschmuggels im maritimen Umfeld zu unterstützen. Die Beteiligung ist bis zum 31. März 2022 befristet und umfasst bis zu 650 Soldatinnen und Soldaten.
