Summary

The Conference of the Parties to the Convention agrees that species of fungi are covered by the Convention and recommends procedures for standardizing nomenclature, including proposing subspecies for inclusion in the Appendices only if they are valid and easily identifiable, and seeking advice from the Animals and Plants Committees on correct names and taxonomic changes. The Conference also resolves to update standard nomenclatural references and adopt new ones through a process initiated by the Animals or Plants Committee, and directs the Secretariat to make orthographical changes in the lists of species included in the Appendices without consulting the Conference of the Parties.
