The European Commission has submitted a report to the European Parliament and the Council assessing the remuneration rules under Directive 2013/36/EU and Regulation (EU) No 575/2013. The rules, introduced after the 2008 financial crisis, aim to ensure that remuneration policies do not encourage excessive risk-taking behavior. The report is based on a review of available academic literature, a public consultation, and input from stakeholders, including industry representatives and supervisory authorities. The Commission found that while the rules have been implemented, there are limitations in terms of data availability, and it is difficult to measure their concrete impact on individuals' behavior.
