Summary

Il governatore della Sicilia, Musumeci, aveva annunciato a aprile l'intenzione di realizzare due termovalorizzatori sull'isola, ma a due mesi di distanza non c'è ancora traccia del bando. La Regione spera di redigerlo entro la fine di luglio, ma il percorso non arriverà all'aggiudicazione prima della fine della legislatura. La Sicilia è sprofondata nuovamente nell'emergenza immondizia a causa della chiusura delle discariche maggiori e l'assenza di un piano per i rifiuti speciali. A Partinico è stata proposta la realizzazione di un impianto di "co-incenerimento" che gli ambientalisti considerano un mini-termovalorizzatore. I due termovalorizzatori indicati da Musumeci dovrebbero essere realizzati a Gela e Catania, ma i tempi saranno lunghi e l'Isola dovrà affidarsi alle vecchie discariche almeno fino al 2026.
