Summary

The City of Los Angeles has enacted an ordinance requiring certain businesses, including those at the airport, in the hospitality industry, and providing services to commercial properties, to offer laid-off workers the right to recall to their previous positions or similar ones, with priority given to those with the greatest length of service. Collective bargaining agreements in place on the effective date of the ordinance may supersede its provisions, but only if they contain a right of recall provision.
