Summary

Support is available for individuals who meet certain criteria, including those who have had to temporarily close their business or reduce work hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The support includes a daily allowance of 6,750 yen (or 7,500 yen in areas under a state of emergency or other special measures) for each day that work was unable to be performed, from August 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. The application period is from the date of the temporary closure or reduction in work hours to December 27, 2021 for the first period, and to February 28, 2022 for the second period. To be eligible, applicants must have had a contract for work or services before the temporary closure or reduction in work hours, and must have been unable to work due to the need to care for a child who was unable to attend school or other facilities due to COVID-19.
