A public consultation on the Interim Devon Carbon Plan received 1,322 responses from individuals and organisations across Devon, showing strong support for action on climate change, with 76% of respondents broadly supporting the Plan. Respondents want Devon to become net-zero carbon as soon as possible, with at least 81% supporting the Key Outcomes and Priority Actions. The consultation identified 264 community projects and 67 organisational strategies linked to the Plan's actions, and respondents suggested prioritising actions, using plain English, and providing a clear link between actions and carbon reduction. Six issues were proposed for consideration by the Citizens' Assembly, including landscape evolution, financial mechanisms, onshore wind energy, building retrofitting, road capacity reduction, and reducing meat and dairy consumption. Respondents rated the importance of 159 actions, with 87% considering them at least "Medium importance", and 95 organisations expressed interest in overseeing the delivery of the Plan.
