Summary

Diplomacy in sports is a new phenomenon that aims to increase influence, open new horizons, and promote cultural understanding between people worldwide. This qualitative study, guided by grand theory, explores various aspects of this phenomenon. It involved experts and managers in the field, who were selected purposefully. After a deep review of the theoretical foundations, the data was analyzed and coded. The results identified 165 codes, 14 main categories, and 60 concepts. These were organized into six main themes based on the Straussian and Corbin paradigm: conditions, field conditions, intervention conditions, strategies, reactions, and outcomes. The findings suggest that diplomacy in sports is a major driver of political, foreign, and sports development in countries.
