Summary

The European Commission adopted amendments to the PRIIPs Regulation and UCITS Directive, but postponed the adoption of revised Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS). The industry is requesting a 12-month implementation period, ending on 31 December 2022, instead of the original 1 July 2022 deadline. The European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) and other associations are asking for the timelines in the PRIIPs and UCITS quick fixes to be aligned, and for the UCITS KIID requirement to be abolished for professional investors to avoid unnecessary costs.
