The Lviv Urban Mobility Forum was held from 26 to 29 April, gathering over 150 participants to share experiences and develop plans for sustainable mobility. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi spoke about building an "UNBROKEN" ecosystem for humanity, including accessible urban locations and transportation. Daniel Busche, Director of GIZ Ukraine, highlighted the history of cooperation with Lviv, including the development of bicycle infrastructure and sustainable urban mobility programs. The forum discussed topics such as electric mobility, urban accessibility, and road safety legislation, with participants visiting the Electrontrans factory and newly reconstructed streets. Lviv's new approach to reconstructing urban infrastructure prioritizes repairing spaces rather than roads, with a focus on accessibility and safety. The city aims to introduce low- and zero-emission zones and encourage electric mobility sharing, with a proposed Electric Mobility Plan to ensure 100% of Lviv's electric transport meets modern standards. The forum also addressed legislative obstacles to sustainable mobility, proposing changes to ensure barrier-free access and modernize public transport systems.
